Old House, New House

We-Haul, not U-Haul

For those interested in seeing our new digs a bit early, here are some shots of our current residence and the new abode. We will be upgrading to 2 1/2 baths (as opposed to the one we have now) - no more fighting for the bathroom! The packing is going well, I guess, and poor Gabby is probably wondering why, oh why, I packed all of her toys away! woof woof ... (it's hard to spot her, but she's in the chaos!)

Cub Scout Day Camp

August 13-17, 2007

WE ARE WOLVES AND WE HOWL ... OWWWWWW!

What a whirlwind week we had at camp! Austin (a Wolf this year) had a super-duper time with all of the activities. Austin really enjoyed learning how to shoot a BB gun (I joined in and *shock* loved it) and the archery range was another favorite. Crafts, Scout Skills, Den Activities, Science and Nature and Sports were also among the menu for each day. (Check to see if you can pick out the snake Austin painted)

During the week, I was a "walk along" leader and was able to watch Austin at all of his stations. It really was a blessing that I was able to go. Poor Melissa had to stay home and sleep in late and call her friends and instant message her friends and shop with her friends ... I think she had a relatively good time! ;)

Austin and I had some iffy weather and a few days it rained (surprised, right?) and the wind was a whipping at times - enough to blow over a few of the tents!

It was a long week, though, because of all of the constant activities! When we came home at the end of each day, I was completely knackered (my new favorite word)!

On Friday, we were signed-up for the camp out but learning that we are moving next week kind of put me in packing mode!

who's got SPIRIT?!

Emmy's cheering ...

This week Melissa had cheer camp and today there was a performance for parents, friends and, well, everyone! Melissa really had a fun time - it brought back many happy memories of California and the cheer squad she was on there. The coaches, Darren and Nancy, were really talented and fun to watch! Too bad it only lasted a week ... ;)

our LITTLE stinker ...

Bad Girl Gabby

Here is the story and I'm sticking to it ... The (hey) Culligan Man came over to pick up our empties and see if we needed more water. I told him I had 3 empties and went to go get them when I looked down and *SCREAM* I saw my prototype Christmas card gnawed on by our princess (not today) Gabby. Okay, the (hey) Culligan Man didn't seem to understand my utter shock and heartfelt disappointment. Jacob came running into the living room and also shared the (hey) Culligan Man's viewpoint. Austin's feeling was "it's just a card, Mom". What they all fail to understand is the time and effort (and I may say pride) that went into the card making of said Christmas card. The only person who really understood my angst was my neighbor, Anna, whose home I invaded whilst trying to get the inspiration of said Christmas card. Moral of the story: if you want to keep anything nice, keep it out of the reach of Gabby. Oh, at least I can reuse the brads and the ribbon ... (I'm trying to think positively here!)

The New Doo

Snip, Snip!

Gabby needed a haircut (she was looking very emo) and so we had Ms. Sam come over to our house and give her one. Gabby did very well - she was quite tolerant to the clippers and scissors. Holy Moley, the amount of hair that came off! She could have donated to a doggy locks-of-love ... ;p

Take Me Out to the Ball Game ...

Who's up for some Baseball?

Well, Austin attended a baseball day-camp this week! It was his first time "officially" playing baseball - the games were very relaxed and there really weren't enough kids for two full teams. That didn't stop the boys from having fun! Austin enjoyed being up at bat better than the outfield and we are sure to keep up the practice!
